The First Annual Garden Tour ​is Almost Here!

  1. 78 Havelock -- Beautiful long backyard with tree ferns, mature trees, and impressively gigantic "Tower of Jewels" plants.
  2. 50 Havelock -- "Urban homestead” including a rainwater catch system (version 1.0), laundry-to-lawn system, greenhouse, vegetable garden, and small ornamental garden​
  3. 201 Delano -- Amazing Echium!!
  4. 152 Delano -- Colorful flowerbed, a garden collaboration among neighbors
  5. 160 Otsego -- Hidden oasis with magical glass-mulch pathway leading to garden studio
  6. 141 Otsego -- Colorful front and back yards utilizing drought-tolerant plants
  7. 498 Capistrano -- In-progress renovation of sweeping front lawn into lovely landscape
  8. 373 Capistrano -- ​Beautiful sunny garden retreat with meandering path, resting/medication bench, and occasional possum visits. 
  9. 201 San Juan​ -- A colorful water-wise lawn replacement
  10. 156 San Juan​ -- Fragrant corner garden of California natives and court ​
  11. 783 Cayuga -- A tiny labyrinth hides on a terrace in this part-shade backyard​
  12. 781 Cayuga -- A pair of stately Queen Palms grace this sweet backyard with sunny patio​
  13. 731 Cayuga -- Large backyard garden with mature pine, poised for transformation
  14. ​1681 San Jose -- Mission Terrace Bridge Garden:  Pedestrian portal to the neighborhood, a public garden reclaiming a once-blighted space. The garden created with an SF Community Challenge Grant, and it is maintained by a team of neighborhood volunteers. Please join our monthly garden workdays! (Contact mtbeautify@mac.com to join the email list; work get-togethers are second Saturday of each month from 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM, weather permitting; next get-together is 5/15!)
  15. 1801 San Jose -- Red Sea Market's transformation of a blank wall and challenging sidewalk-adjacent space into a cheerful container garden. Recipient of neighborhood improvement association NMTIA greening award!
  16. 209 Santa Rosa -- Backyard greenery includes succulents, cactus, and calla lilies and the front yard's drought resistant trees and plants require pruning and trimming only, no watering!
  17. 201 Capistrano -- Verdant vegetable garden, delicate Japanese Maples and a towering Ash
  18. 11 Otsego -- Elegant and environmentally friendly lawn replacement (ask about how to apply for funds to do this!)​
  19. 36 Delano -- Beautiful tree-landscaped front yard​
Our Mission Terrace gardens have it all;  rainwater catch systems, glass much pathways, tiffany lamp gazebos, succulents surprises, garden labyrinths, and more.

Put on your walking shoes, jump on your bikes, and visit your neighbors during our first annual Garden Tour. Gardens will be open on Sunday, May 7th, from 1:00 to 4:00PM.  There is no formal route, yet the purple line in the map provides one possible path to follow.
